Habagat Kiteboarding Center runs kiteboarding lessons on Bulabog Beach in Boracay, one of the first kiteboarding schools to set up on the island’s kite beach. The school sits right on the sand at Bulabog, on the eastern shore of Boracay Island in Malay, Aklan, Philippines. An outer reef breaks the incoming ocean swell into a chest-deep flat-water lagoon along the whole beach, and it’s a big part of why kiteboarders from across Asia keep making the trip here.

About our spot at Bulabog Beach
Bulabog Beach, also known as Kite Beach, runs about 1.5 kilometres along Boracay’s eastern shore. The reef along its length holds back the ocean swell, so the water inside stays flat and chest-deep across most of the beach. That works well for beginners still finding their feet and for advanced riders working on new tricks in calm water. We’re set up right on the sand, so the walk from our centre to the launch is a matter of footsteps.
Our kiteboarding season in Boracay
The main season runs from November through March, when the Amihan monsoon blows steady out of the northwest. Wind speeds typically hold between 15 and 25 knots, with the strongest days landing in December and January. The wind drops off through April and May, then swings around for the Habagat monsoon from June to October. Kiting moves across the island to White Beach during those months, a four-kilometre stretch of white sand without Bulabog’s outer reef, so conditions there run choppier: a different kind of challenge for riders who already have some hours behind them.
Kiteboarding lessons we teach
We run a full ladder of courses, starting with a 90-minute Discover Kiteboarding taster and moving through Levels 1 to 3 into a Full Course that takes beginners to independent riders across 9 hours of private instruction, or 12 in group format. Level 1 covers kite theory and trainer kite control, Level 2 works on water starts and board control, and Level 3 focuses on transitions and riding upwind. Level 4 adds personalised coaching for riders refining their technique, and we run one-on-one private lessons for anyone chasing a specific skill or trick. All instruction comes from IKO-certified instructors, with private and group formats available across the range.
We also teach kite foiling for certified kiteboarders ready to add a foil to their quiver, plus hourly foil rental for anyone who wants to try it without committing to a full lesson.
Wingfoil lessons run alongside the kiteboarding courses on their own progression. The Discovery Course gives newcomers an hour with the wing on the sand and then on the board without a foil attached. Level 1 builds wing handling and board orientation, and Level 2 introduces the foil itself, working toward those first hovers above the water. Our Full Course strings the beginner levels together across 7 hours, with two hours of free equipment rental included.
Our equipment
For rental, we stock CORE and NORTH kiteboarding gear, from full head-to-toe sets down to single kites for topping up a quiver on light or strong wind days. Wingfoil riders use Armstrong and Core wings from 3.5 to 6.1 metres, paired with Armstrong 132-litre and Core 130 and 110-litre foil boards, and masts from 45 to 85 centimetres depending on conditions and experience.
Riders who’d rather leave their gear on the island than pack it home can store kites and boards with us right on the beach. Storage includes a caddie service that helps set up and pack down equipment, and assists with launching and landing.
Our accommodation
We offer accommodation through our sister company, Aissatou Beach Resort, on the south side of Bulabog Beach and a ten-minute walk from White Beach’s busier stretch. Rooms range from Penthouse Apartments to Deluxe and Superior rooms, with a choice of sea view or garden view. Aissatou Beach Resort has welcomed kitesurfers since 2006 and runs under the same German management as Habagat Kiteboarding Center. The resort is also home to The Steakhouse Boracay, so dinner is never far from the room.
